The Holy Book of the Great Invisible Spirit, Part 4

This section/part is about the partners & attendants for the luminaries. Also I’ll be covering the luminaries are enthroned. This section gets REALLY different from the mainstream. However, it is an enjoyable read. It’s very thought-provoking. It definitely makes you think.

Partners & Attendants for Luminiaries

The father nodded approval, & the whole fullness of the luminaries agreed. Partners for the luminaries appeared to complete the realm of 8 of the self-conceived God: Grace, for the 1st luminary Harmozel; perception, for the 2nd luminary Oroiael; intelligence, for the 3rd luminary Daveithe; understanding, for the 4th luminary Eleleth.

This is the 1st realm of 8 of the self-conceived God. The father nodded approval, & the whole fullness of the luminaries agreed. The attendants appeared: 1st, great Gamaleil, for the 1st great luminary Harmozel; great Gabriel, for the 2nd great luminary Oroiael; great Samblo, for the great luminary Daveithe; great Abrasax, for the great luminary Eleleth.

Partners for the attendants appeared by the will & good pleasure of the father: memory, for the 1st, great Gamaleil; love, for the 2nd, great Gabriel; peace, for the 3rd great Samblo; life eternal, for the 4th, great Abrasax.

Thus were the 5 realms of 8 completed, 40 in all, as inexplicable power.  The great self-conceived word & the expression of the fullness for the 4 luminaries offered praise to the great invisible unnameable virgin, the male virgin, the great realm of Doxomedon, the thrones in them, the powers around them, glories, authorities, & powers, the triple male child Esephech, master of glory & the child of the child, the crown of its glory, all the fullness, all the glories that are there, the infinite & the unnameable realms that they may all upon the father that they may call upon the father as the fourth, along with the incorruptible generation, & call the seed of the father the seed of great Seth.

Here the Codex IV version reads “Samblo” & the Codex III version reads “Samlo.” Abrasax, here & throughout the text, is the name of a cosmic power in several traditions, including gnostic traditions. The numerical value of the name Abrasax in Greek in 365, & thus it corresponds to the number of the days in Earth’s solar year. The name Abrasax may come from the Hebrew ‘Arba’ (“four,” for the Tetragrammaton or the 4 letter name of God, YHWH) ‘Sabaoth’ (meaning “hosts,” “armies,” shortened in the name, & thous Abrasax may reflect the meaning “lord of hosts.”

The meaning of “the 4th” is uncertain; the Codex III version originally read ” the 74th,” & this reading was corrected to the present reading. Perhaps compare the trinities, or divine triads, in the Holy Book of the Great Invisible Spirit with the present father as the 4th after a trinity. Heraclean, Commentary on John 16 (on the Valentinian concept of 40 & 4, & the realms of 4, tetras); Secret Book of James 12 (on “a 4th one in heaven”).
